[Gizmodo UK : Gizmodo - The Gadget Blog] Mac users usually get screwed over in the world of PVR stuff, which is a damn shame because us Mac users are all about multimedia. myTV.PVR is a new white box about the size of the Mac mini.
Some related posts from Technorati and Google.
[B.Mann Consulting | Technology Consulting in Vancouver] TiVo in Canada and other PVR info: There have been PVR options available in Canada before this from all the major players, but TiVo has long been acknowledged as the best user interface, as well as a large number of add on options for working with recorded shows on your computer or elsewhere on your home network.
[TP.c] BUILD YOUR OWN OPEN SOURCE DVR: If I build my own PVR, all I can do is look for other like-minded individuals who have either posted the same or similar problems or who have made themselves available to help people. You can’t get mad at them or they won’t help you.
[ODBlog] Open Sourcing Home Theater: Even thought the Mac mini is nothing more than a headless G4 iMac, lacking the screen and G5 of the iMac, it's generating lots of interest on the net. I see lots of thinking about how to integrate a Mac mini into a home theater setup, coordinating digital media and acting as a personal video recorder.
[Pvrblog.com] PVRblog | TiVo, ReplayTV, and other PVR news and reviews: I'd done the DirecTV thing for the past couple years and their HD offerings were pretty minimal (and required buying a ~$500 box) though they claim they will have the most programming by 2007 when their new satellites are operational. I decided to go with Comcast, since it was simple, cheap, and here right now.
[Anandtech.com] AnandTech: The Mac mini as a Media Computer: To do what with, who knows - some wanted it for their parents/grandparents, others wanted to try out Mac OS X and never had a cheap way of doing it, and another group of PC users didn’t know why they wanted it - it was small, it looked cool and they, well, just wanted it.
[Pvr.blogs.com] PVRblog | TiVo, ReplayTV, and other PVR news and reviews: After five years of being a happy TiVo customer (first with standalone units, then with DirecTV units) it was time to finally try out HDTV and to do that meant I had only a couple options in my area: try a cable company HD DVR or a satellite company HD DVR. I'd done the DirecTV thing for the past couple years and their HD offerings were pretty minimal (and required buying a ~$500 box) though they claim they will have the most programming by 2007 when their new satellites are operational.
